Friction isn't Failure
At RepairWorks, we believe conflict and tension are just powerful forms of energy. The problem is that most of us have never been taught or shown how to harness that energy productively and without damaging connection. Instead, we're often conditioned to avoid, appease, or win at all costs — all destructive approaches that harm relationships, depreciate trust, and ultimately cause more conflict.

We help humans and groups tap into their individual and collective strengths to move past fear and tension into a space of possibility, connection, and healing.
Â
We do this with the following core principles in mind:
Trust over Fear
Instead of avoiding the heat, we use it to shed light on deeper truths. Our approach transforms conflict into a catalyst for healing.
Peacemaking over Peacekeeping
We actively build durable, equitable peace rather than just holding a quiet status quo where tensions remain unresolved.
Courageous Curiosity over Avoidance
We step toward discomfort with an open mind, asking the powerful questions that reveal new opportunities, perspectives, and directions.
Antibiotics over Bandaids
We focus on the underlying issues to foster long-term systemic healing, rather than applying quick fixes that only mask symptoms.
Transformation over Resolution
Sometimes, resolution isn't possible. Our goal isn't just to end conflict, but to productively transform its energy so all parties can move forward.Â
People vs Problems
It's not us against each other; it's us against a mutual problem. We address the issue(s) together, shifting focus from blame and finger-pointing to shared understanding and problem-solving.Â
Mutual Gain over Winning
We move beyond the binary of winners and losers and the temptation to reach polite compromises in which everyone has to give something up. We focus on getting beneath each party's positions, needs, and interests to find mutually beneficial outcomes for all. We help you think outside the box and generate creative solutions that remove the need for trade-offs or settling.
"Because of my work with Marissa, I am better able to navigate conflict on my team with success. I learned to trust my instincts more and lean into direct and open communication, and feel more comfortable delivering bad news with kindness, empathy, and authenticity."

Who We Work With
RepairWorks works with individuals seeking to deepen their conflict competence, as well as with teams, organizations, coalitions, communities, and other established groups that are navigating interpersonal conflict between two or multiple people.
While we deeply value and encourage mediation and conflict transformation across all areas of life, we do not provide divorce, romantic relationship, probate/estate, or other personal mediation services. We also do not take on projects that require legal or medical expertise.
The Cost of Conflict
When conflict is ignored, it doesn’t disappear; it spreads. Unspoken and unaddressed tensions erode trust, stall collaboration, decrease productivity, and quietly divide groups and workplaces. Over time, people withdraw or exit, creativity shrinks, meetings get more tense, and small misunderstandings harden into lasting resentments.
Â
In workplaces alone, unresolved conflict costs businesses over $359 billion annually in lost productivity each year, and it's estimated that the average employee spends about 2.8 hours per week engaged in or navigating the consequences of conflict.Â

RepairWorks helps you stop needlessly bleeding time, money, energy, and relationships and start building the connection, healing, and environments required for real progress.
